Aero Institute (AI-HK) was founded in 2009 by passionate local Airline Pilots in Hong Kong. We observed the lack of aviation training from the private sector to cater for the demand in the quest for aviation knowledge in Hong Kong. AI-HK was formed on such basis, with the aim to spread aviation knowledge to the masses, and to cultivate future pilots and other aviation professionals among the local population.
We expanded to Macau in 2013. And in 2016, we stepped into Singapore and China.

It was an honour to be the first scholar of the AI-HK Scholarship and this is undoubtedly the biggest step I took in achieving my aspiration of becoming an airline pilot. I have certainly gained way more than I originally expected.
Besides the PPL+ course and the 10 Hours of Flying, what I valued most was the guidance that I get from all the Pilots in AI-HK.
I was offered great flexibility to redeem my scholarship in order to fit in with my 2 exchange programmes required in university. I was worried initially but together we worked out a solution like a team.
I got learn how to professional pilots solve difficult situations. In the end I flew 5 hours in the UK during my exchange and will fly another 5 hours in Australia next year. I can also re-attend the PPL+ course as many times as I wish.
To me, AI-HK Scholarship just came with unimaginable bonuses.
It was a memorable learning experience to fly in Australia. I did as much preparation as I could beforehand and completed my First Solo in a Tobago in 11 hours. Although it is only the first milestone as a pilot, the joy of manoeurving the plane all by myself and the sense of achievement is incredible and unforgettable.
During the whole process, I had to cope with different issues and that gave me a taste of the airline operations - how a pilot has to make the best outcome despite all the unfavourable factors.
What is unique about the AI-HK Scholarship is the learning BEYOND. Flying an aircraft requires Knowledge and Skills, You look at the instrument panel inside and through the windscreen outside. However, when you have the right Attitude, then you can SEE what is really happening to the flight, the industry and the world. You will be able to do things better and do better things.
For instance, flying some 300 passengers safely and efficiently. It takes Experience, and it makes up Experience.
All these qualities are what I am gaining from AI-HK.
Being awarded the Scholarship by Aero Institute motivated me to work harder to pursue my pilot dream. It is truly a big step forward as well as a huge encouragement.
It was an unforgettable experience to fly in Australia. With the aviation knowledge I gained from the PPL+ course plus my thorough preparation, I completed my First Solo in 2 weeks. I enjoyed every moment in the sky so much, and could never forget the joy of completing a flight all by myself.
My learning experience in Aero Institute surpassed my expectations. The instructors were helpful and encouraging. Being a Pilot is more than just being knowledgeable and skillful. Apart from the PPL knowledge I gained from AI-HK, the most valuable lesson I learnt was how an Airline Pilot thinks and operates. Their teachings gave me a much bigger and comprehensive picture that enables me to handle difficult situations in an efficient manner.
I hope I can become an aviator in the near future and this is the best way to express my gratitude toward Aero Institute.

I have the dream of flying since I was little. Somewhere along the line, I even made a momentous decision that my future career will be nothing else but being a pilot. However, it is not until this CAI course that did I gain a clear and concrete idea of what it takes to be a pilot.
CAI equipped me with tremendous aviation knowledge, and the knowledge alone is intriguing, professional and enlightening enough to rewrite my definition of “Aviation”. One example was that I got to know a normal aircraft is assembled with one wing rather than a pair of wings!! Above all, what impressed me most was the sincerity of the tutors, in other words, the pilots!! They encourage all kinds of questions relevant to the industry, they devoted their own time just to ensure we get the most out of the lessons.
CAI not only provided me with knowledge of aviation but also eliminated my doubts and helped me plan the path to realise my dream. The CAI is what a would-be pilot should attend.
The CAI is really beneficial for my future in the aviation industry. Before I attended CAI, I was thinking whether I really love aviation. But after I have finished the course, I can say that, yes, I love aviation. I want to join the Aviation Industry, whether as an Engineer or Air Traffic Controller or Pilot.
From attending the CAI program, yes, I learnt so much about aviation and had totally changed my view of aviation and my life. For example, before I attended the CAI program, I can tell you which aircraft type can fly the longest distance directly. But now, I will consider more factors like aircraft performance, fuel load and the en-route weather etc. Overall, I think you only spend a little bit of money to attend this course, but you will receive more than you expect.
I attended the course Civil Aviation Insight and found it very fruitful. I have benefited a lot and broadened my horizon through these learning sessions. Every lesson were taught by at least two experienced tutors and the learning atmosphere was excellent in the class. Students can raise questions whenever they want, and tutors welcomed the questions as well. In addition, they were always able to give answers in a simple and direct way, which helped me to understand a lot of difficult concepts easily. Moreover, their valuable sharing really provided me with many insights of civil aviation, which impressed me very much. Frankly, the course is not cheap, but it is bargain. If you want to know more on civil aviation, just join this course to get another stunning experience as I have.

I am studying Aviation Management in New Zealand, and I attended CAI in 2009 Christmas. CAI offered a great opportunity for me to know more about aviation which is closely related to my course in university. Also, while I am doing my PPL Flight Training in New Zealand, due to the language problem I was struggling with Meteorology. Surprisingly, the AI pilots offered me a great extra tutorial lesson at no cost. They guided me to the right direction and the appropriate learning method, which deeply inspired me to be a better student pilot and university student. Thank you for organizing CAI.
I attended the first Civil Aviation Insights class in 2009. It was the most unforgettable class that I have ever taken. At first, I felt overwhelmed with the amount of lecture notes that were given in each session. The lecturers are very enthusiastic with answering any questions we had. They are passionate about teaching us. I liked the way they related lecture materials with their past or present flying experience. This is something you cannot get from reading textbooks, and that added a personal touch to the real aviation world.
The best thing about AI-HK is that they have current Airline Pilots to lecture the class. So they have hands-on and the most up-to-date aviation information. Their experience is very inspiring for me. Don’t wait and join AI-HK now! You won’t regret it.
The CAI course has definitely provided me with a lot of aviation knowledge, which I think will be very useful when I go for the Cadet Pilot interview. The best part is that all the instructors are well experienced airline pilots. Besides teaching the course materials, they also shared many of their flying experience. That is something you definitely can’t get out of books! To me, this course is both serious and fun!
The lecturers are experienced and knowledgeable. They always used real life examples for illustration; this not only equips myself for the private pilot license examination, but also enriched my horizon and thoughts on the current and future aviation industry. When you think you know a lot about aviation, you will find out there is a lot more to learn when you take the course! It is really a wonderful experience in attending the private pilot license preparation course. Thank you so much!
The course is really good, the material is professionally taught and the atmosphere is relaxed. You can just keep asking and asking questions (question that are related of course, that’s how a pilot should be).Thank you for organizing this.
After attending the PPL theory course, I gained an in depth understanding of General Aviation. With the help of this course, I can complete all my ground theory examination in Australia easily, and I achieved Solo Flight in less than 12 hours of Flying. The instructors are all experienced Airline Pilots who help us develop an Aviation Mindset. All pilot instructors are very friendly and approachable, they are all willing to spend their private time to answer our questions (usually respond within a day). I feel lucky that I had attended such high value courses at AI-HK.
